FUN Things to Do in new smyrna Beach

Our prime location offers many things to do. We'll point you in any direction you choose to ensure your stay is all you want it to be and more!

  1. Beaches:
    1. Smyrna Dunes Park at the North end of town: This park is beachfront and spans from the riverfront, around the inlet, to the rock jetty on the beach. There’s a boardwalk for a nice long leisurely walk to take in the views of the boats, Ponce Inlet Lighthouse, and surfers at the jetty. It’s also pet-friendly so you can bring your best furry friend along as long as he’s leashed.
    2. Drive on!: From the north end of town, south to 27th Ave, you can drive on the beach at multiple access points. Take the opportunity to drive the beach and find your perfect spot to set up.
    3. Walk on!: There are public beach access ramps and parking lots throughout the entire shoreline. It is hard to find a place that you can’t access the beach. Walk from your house/condo or park at one of the Pay-to-Park lots and you are just steps from your spot in the sand.
    4. Canaveral National Seashore: The south end of town, take Atlantic south until it dead-ends and you’ll reach the Canaveral Seashore. This area of the beach is shelly sand, quiet, and remote. Like what Florida was like a 100 years ago. It’s a beautiful place to enjoy the tranquility, or do some surf fishing, and maybe end your day with lunch/dinner at JB’s Fish Camp overlooking Mosquito Lagoon.
    5. Don’t forget surf lessons: Jimmy Lane Surf Camp has been teaching kids to surf for over 30 years. Lindsey Baldwin has been giving lessons for 15+ years and was one of the top-ranked pro surfers in the world.
  2. Marine Education. We have two fantastic local venues for marine awareness and discovery: The Marine Discovery Science Center: Education, exploration, and conservation are the words you’ll hear at the Marine discovery center in NSB. The Marine Science Center is a great kid-friendly place where you can see turtle rescue in action. Not to mention its next to the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse, park, and restaurants. Spend a day learning about marine science, climb the lighthouse, dine in the local waterfront restaurant, and play in the park. Your kids will thank you.
  3. Fishing Charters in Mosquito Lagoon: Not only is it a beautiful local to fish, but the bites are plenty. Most aim for the Redfish which is good fishing 12 months of the year. Hire a captain who will take you to the best spot. It’s a lovely ride and you’ll come home happy!
  4. Golfing: With 7 golf courses in town, it’s a golfer’s dream. We have municipal to private(with public access). Courses, driving ranges, restaurants, club rentals, cart rentals, lessons. Even kids camp at great rates!
  5. Shuffleboard: Huh? Yes, its right in the middle of town and you can even buy an annual membership for a steep $20 bucks. From October through March, free scheduled shuffleboard lessons are offered at the shuffleboard courts at the Coronado Civic Center. Regularly scheduled tournaments throughout the winter also are offered. The Coronado Civic Center is on the corner of Flagler Avenue and Pine Street, three blocks from the beach.
  6. Flagler Ave: “Flager Avenue is a true seaside beach street lined with quaint boutiques, galleries, surf shops, restaurants, inns and more. These charming small businesses make for an unforgettable visit. Leisurely walk the five blocks from the river to the ocean and experience our historic street with an old Florida ambiance. Don’t forget about the vibrant nightlife — the party’s always happening on Flagler Avenue!”
  7. Canal St: Discover Downtown New Smyrna Beach. Our pedestrian-friendly, tree-lined streets offer a vibrant blend of parks and historic buildings, specialty shops and service businesses, fine dining, art galleries, cultural attractions and the New Smyrna Beach Museum of History
  8. Do The Loop!: Approx 6 mile waterfront walking/biking path takes you along the main events of town including Canal St, the Intracoastal, Flagler Ave, the Oceanfront in Central beach, and the North Causeway. Take in the sights like the old town, the drawbridge, the river from the top of the bridge. You won’t be disappointed. The Loop can also be explored by golf cart.
  9. The Arts: The Hub On Canal: A community Artist Co-op hosts galleries, classes, exhibitions, and events. Also, Atlantic Center for the Arts (ACA) is a non-profit artist residency facility located in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.” They also have galleries, residency programs, events, shows, etc.
